GMAT Reopens Test-Centres in India

On May 22nd, the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), announced that they are reopening test-centres in select locations as Corona lock-downs start lifting worldwide.

As life begins to resume normalisation, where we have to learn to live with the virus that shut down the world, GMAT Test-Centres will also start functioning - albeit in limited capacity - at some places.

In India, the initial list of cities where the test centres are opening up is confined to 8 cities. These are:

  1. Bengaluru

  2. Bhopal

  3. Jaipur

  4. Kolkata (Alile Technologies & Solutions centre only)

  5. Gujarat

  6. Manipal

  7. Mumbai, and

  8. Nagpur

As the situation keeps evolving, a lot more test-centres are expected to re-open in the first week of June. You can check the updated list of test-centres here.

This news should come as a huge relief to thousands of test-takers who were miffed with the Online version of GMAT, and were waiting to get done with the test to begin their application preparation for the upcoming admissions cycle.

In the wake of the coronavirus, a lot of schools had earlier extended their deadlines and waived the requirement of GMAT/GRE scores for the last rounds of applications for Sep 2020 intake. A great move and potentially life-changing opportunities for MBA hopefuls, however, we strongly believe that this would only be beneficial for domestic candidates, rather than International aspirants of the MBA programs.

Some of the top B-Schools, such as Harvard, Wharton and INSEAD have already announced the deadlines for their Sep 2021 intakes.
