Masters in Management Programs are one of the most increasingly popular management programs in the world. Popularly known as MIM programs, they are majorly offered by the top European Business Schools and are aimed at candidates in their early careers.
In this series of posts, we bring to you detailed interviews with candidates who have pursued some of the most highly-ranked MIM programs from the top business schools. These candidates will share with you various aspects of the application process, what worked for them and what didn't, and also provide tips on how to go about preparing your applications for these top programs.
In this article, we interview Lakshman Teja.
Lakshman is an engineer from IIT-BHU Varanasi. After completing his dual degree (B.Tech + M.Tech) he went on to work in various roles across India and then pursued his MIM degree from the University of St. Gallen. He is currently studying at the Strategy and International Management Program of the university, which is the world number 1 MIM program for consecutively 9 years.
Below are some more, rather obscure, points about the university and the SIM program:
The University of St. Gallen was started more than 100 years ago which makes it one of the oldest hubs of knowledge in Switzerland.
SIM is one of the few programs which asks for Video Essays during its application process!
Engineers with a BTech are not eligible to apply - which basically rules out a massive and hugely competitive pool for Indian applicants.
However, if you have an MTech or a dual degree, then you can apply for this top program!
Check out the interview to know more about how he prepared for his applications, his tips on acing GMAT and the video interview questions!
