Updated: Jun 5, 2019
This is the third post in the series of articles which will help us shed light on a number of topics related to the two most popular management programs - Masters in Management and MBA. I will keep these articles as short as possible, while also ensuring that you gain maximum value out of it.
You can find the previous article here: MIM Requirements
Masters in Management programs have gained significant popularity since the 2000s, but predominantly they have remained an European phenomenon. There is a much larger cohort of schools which offer quality MIM programs in Europe compared to the US. This is also visible quite explicitly in the rankings for MIM programs.
As per the FT Rankings, all of the Top 10 MIM programs are based in Europe. In fact, the first North American entry in the list is at the 49th rank - from Canada. This is starkly different from the makeup of MBA Rankings, where the majority of schools in the top 100 are from the US.
Strategy and International Management program in Switzerland has been ranked world #1 consecutively for 8 years by FT.
Almost all of the top MIM programs are offered by some of the most well-known B-Schools in Europe. The University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, ranked #4 among the top European Business Schools by Financial Times, also offers the Strategy and International Management program - ranked world #1 consecutively for 8 years by FT!
While the top spot has been ferociously defended by St. Gallen, there have been very interesting movements in the top 5. HEC Paris and Essec Business School have maintained their positions in the top 5, while London Business School and ESCP have been constantly in and out of the top-5 group!
Nevertheless, all the above universities offer unparalleled access to global networks, fruitful careers in the multi-cultural European continent and world-class education fit for the leaders of tomorrow.
